Jeane Ruth DeVore

AUGUSTA – On Jan. 6, 2023, with family by her side, Jeane peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Jeane was born on Nov. 15, 1941, in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Borgi) Paret of New Jersey, and sister to the late Carol Zindel of Connecticut.

After finishing high school, Jeane was employed by IBM technologies, she also held a key-punch operator position until she and her family moved to Maine in the early ’70s. They settled in Monmouth for a few years until they moved again to Embden, Maine. In the Early 1980s Jeane was a very successful Tupperware consultant, and due to her success, she won a brand-new car and a trip to Florida. Jeane was such a hard worker, no matter what she put her mind to, she excelled at it!

Everyone who knew Jeane will remember her sense of humor and contagious laugh. She loved sitting and coffee clutching with friends and loved ones. Some of her greatest memories were made when she, and the love of her life, Eddie, also known as Poppa, explored many resorts throughout the southern states in their RV. Jeane was known as the “Activities Director” to many of the Resorts they visited.

Later in life, when Jeane was widowed, she moved back to Maine to be with her family. There she worked side-by-side with her daughter at Mac Residential Services in the 2000s until she retired.

Jeane attended New Beginnings Church of God in Waterville, as well as Calvary Chapel in Fairfield until her health restricted her. She loved spending time with her family, joking around and playing games with her grandkids. She was known as the Mam-bino. Jeane also enjoyed her little farm. Jeane had a love for gardening and her little farm animals.

Jeane had three best friends who loved her unconditionally, Squirt, Cuddles and Cricket, they were her little Yorkies. They brought her such joy.

Jeane was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Ruth; son Christopher Gross; and sister Carol.

She is survived by her daughter Kim and husband Richard McMahon of Sidney; Son Bob and Brenda Rayot of Farmingdale; six grandchildren, Kelly, Mark, James, Misty, Monica and Mandy along with their spouses; nine great-grandchildren; niece Laura Zindel of Vermont and nephew Billy Zindel of California and their spouses.

We know this is a temporary separation until we reunite again.

A memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Church of God, 392 Main St., Waterville, Maine, 04901 on February 11, at 11 a.m.

An online guestbook may be signed, and memories shared at: http://www.lawrybrothers.com.

Arrangements are by Wheeler Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 26 Church St., Oakland, Maine.
