David A. Brann

AUGUSTA – After a long battle with illness, David passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2023, with his family by his side.

David was born in 1951 to Joseph A. Brann and Marian A. Noyes Brann in Augusta. He attended Jefferson Village School. In 1979 he married Lucille Murray and they had three children: Dwayne, Scott and Michelle.

In 1988, he married the love of his life, Sandra Lessard Brann. David and Sandy immediately became inseparable and enjoyed doing all things together; especially traveling.

David was always most at home in the outdoors, he thoroughly enjoyed any time he could go trotting through the woods and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a special connection to wild animals and was always able to draw them near.

He was known as a jokester who loved talking to people and telling jokes; he thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh.

David enjoyed operating heavy equipment and worked for the Maine Department of Transportation for over 38 years. Even in retirement, he would take odd jobs to run equipment.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marian Brann; sons Dwayne Brann and Scott Brann and stepson, Michael Jacques.

He is survived by his spouse, Sandra Brann; brother, Terry Brann; stepdaughter, Sue-Ann Brann, stepson, Steven Jacques, daughter, Michelle Carter; sister, Jeanne Brann; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
