Lou Ann Tucci

WATERVILLE – Lou Ann Tucci, 85, passed away on Jan. 23, 2023 with her family by her side.

Lou Ann was born on Jan. 14, 1938 in Gettysburg, Pa. to the late Mary Cathryn Hoke and Leo Paul Zentz. She attended the University of Maine and Frederick Community College to study art.

Lou Ann moved to Maine in 2007 after the passing of her late husband. In 2020 she married Anthony Tucci and together they started their new lives together.

Lou Ann spent much of her life connecting with her spirituality which also helped her with her sobriety for 53 years. Lou Ann was a mother figure in many of the AA groups she participated in. She was there to support and sponsor many on their roads to recovery as well. With her many years of AA she was honored to be a guest speaker at various group meetings. In many of her speeches Lou Ann spoke of spirituality, and those who helped her on her sobriety journey with their wise words, their kindness and support over the years. When she wasn’t helping others, she was out gardening her African violets and being a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lou Ann is predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Jeanne; and her deceased husband.

She is survived by her widower, Anthony; her sons David, Charles, and Michael; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and her three sisters.

The following passage is unpublished by Lou Ann.

“Each of us is born a spiritual being put here to have a human experience called “life”.

Moment to moment we live, breath, and grow as we become part of the human race.

There are times we raise and times we fall-

Times of joy and times of grief but God gives each of us special moments to see, to feel, to experience, to learn.

When our paths crossed, we had little or nothing to cause it to happen.

It became a gift from God – an opportunity to love again once more.

Gifts of the spirit are rare and precious and this gift to us, is especially precious.

May each day be blessed with love and gratitude to God, and for each other always.” – Lou Ann Tucci
