Bruce Weston

WEST GARDINER – Bruce was born on April 22, 1983, in Lewiston to Katherine Weston O’Brien and the late Bruce F Weston. Bruce E. was called home by his Lord and Savior on Jan. 28, 2023, after a brief illness. Bruce E’s faith, never wavered even through some of the hardest times of his life.

Bruce E. lived his life to the very fullest with a huge smile and could make light of any situation through his joking personality. Bruce E. loved fishing, hunting, camping, playing pool, horseshoes, snowmobiling, four wheeling, dirt biking and riding his motorcycle. Most of all helping everyone with whatever the need was at the time. Bruce E. worked hard and played hard and enjoyed both immensely. He was a perfectionist to the core, especially when it came to working, he took great pride in his work and at times was very brutally honest, didn’t’ matter what their title was you better be working as hard as he was or he’d be calling you out.

He worked on some big and small jobs, Sarah Long bridge, Congress Street connector, various substation across Maine and New Hampshire, and his most recent business adventure with Off Shift Excavation with Gary. You might see power trowels hanging from rafters, or back in the early days, you might see Bruce E. hanging from a bridge deck wearing a lifejacket, or being convinced he needed to be on that barge’s last tour to dump the rubble out in the ocean, or fearlessly not laying in the bottom of an aluminum boat, with the ocean waves crashing in, trying to survive to shore. Of course, he’d always call his MA to let her know he might die today but to not shut down the job. (she was known to shut down a few).

Bruce E. was a jack of all trade. His first job was learning the ropes in the sawmill with Bun, and driving the one ton, peaking through the steering wheel, and learning the tricks with Uncle Chris on how to jam the brakes on to dump the load of lumber.

There was a time when a lot of strings were pulled to get him on the concrete crew at Tambrands.

As many of have seen, there are many videos of his famous slipper dance. He was an avid Eagles fan, even when they sucked.

Bruce E. is survived by his son Kayden; his mother Kathy and his bonus Dad Jim; his sister Tricia and her husband Eric, their kids, Chase and his companion Kimberly, Sydnee and her companion Jared, Avrey, Deegan, and Renner; his sister Mandi and her Fiancé Brandon and their kids, Kaeti and her husband Tyler, Kinlee, Ben, and Cadencel his great nephews Ryder and Oakleyll his bonus brothers, John and Derek and his wife Jessica and daughter Piper. Also he is survived by Grampa Bun, Uncle Jim and Aunt Janie and their families, Aunty Babe and her kids, Uncle Chris and Aunt Natalie and their kids, Uncle Steve and Uncle Rick and their families, the Riedel’s and their families;

his special friends, April, Gary, Todd, Lizey; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, too many to mention, but all were dear to his heart.

The constant argument between Bruce E. and his sisters was always… he/she was my friend first. Big sissy said she won, she is the oldest and he only kissed her friends, she married his friend!

Bruce E. was predeceased by his father, Bruce F. Weston; sister, Jodi Weston; grandmothers, Achsa Beane, Arlene Brann-Brown, Mary Brann, Doris Bennett, grandfathers Bernis Beane, Lawrence Herman, Roger Weston, Eddie Bennett, G. Alfred Brann; cousin, Mitchell Weston; stepfather Chris Riedel; and numerous classmates.
