SANFORD – Caroline Bridges passed away on Feb. 6, 2023. Carol was born March 28, 1928, to Earl and Genesta Atwood.
Carol loved a good movie, reading, knitting, and most of all, a sunny day. She also enjoyed volunteering to assist in the Catholic charities. Having spent a number of wonderful years living in Wayne, she was one of the anchor moms with many of the town’s children spending time in the big Bellafonda house. Carol rarely knew who or how many kids were in the house until mealtime and then she would see the faces at the kitchen table.
Carol was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston which was taught by the Sisters of Notre Dame.
She was predeceased by her parents; and three sisters.
Carol is survived by her seven children, Brian, Julie, Alan and his wife Carol, Randy and his wife Kathryn, Stephanie and her husband Pete Bobak, Sharon and Cindy. She was also blessed with four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at St. Francis in Winthrop at a date to be decided.
