Evangeline Constance “Connie” Levesque

SCARBOROUGH – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Connie Levesque announce her passing on Feb. 12, 2023, in Scarborough, Maine. She was 86 years old.

She was born in Augusta, Maine, on Oct. 11, 1936, the youngest daughter of Roland and Adrienne Levesque, and sister to Carmen.

Connie is survived by seven of her eight children: Emery Toulouse, of Vassalboro, Gail Toulouse, of Waterville, Dawn Levesque, of Saco, Roxanne (Craig) Hutchins, of Wells, Christopher (Kathy) Robitaille, of Dixmont, Eric Robitaille, of Hope, Shannon (Laurie) McGowan of Moschelle, Nova Scotia, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Carmen (Bob) Smith of Winthrop, two nieces and one nephew.

Connie was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Pamela Toulouse in 2009, Grandson Christopher Toulouse Crossley in 1984 and daughter-in-law, Wendee Wright.

Connie was not one for idle hands and had many hobbies. She loved scrapbooking, card-making, embroidery, quilling, and playing her Omnicord. She was also a beautiful dancer; may she dance again in heaven. She was bilingual, with French her first language. She once owned and operated a rock and mineral shop, which included lapidary work (the art of cutting and polishing stones) and gave many talks/demonstrations on rocks and minerals. Rocks were her biggest and heaviest hobby. We know, we moved her.

She was never one to pass by a good yard sale or flea market, and was also not one to pass up a good dessert, famously telling her Doctor that sugar is what glued her together (likely in fear that he would try to restrict her sweet tooth).

She spent her happiest years in Rockland, Maine, as she loved to be near the ocean. Connie, first and foremost, loved to give; not one friend or family member is without something from her. She was a gentle mother and was lovely to spend time with, and will be greatly missed by us all. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”. Roman’s 12:12
