A total of 126 students from Waterville’s Mid-Maine Technical Center competed Feb. 8 in the local Skills Championships.

The event included 29 individual competitions in technical and leadership skills. Sixty business and industry representatives from the greater Waterville area served as judges.

The gold medalist in each competition has qualified to represent Mid-Maine Technical Center at the State SkillsUSA Championships in Bangor on Friday, March 17, according to a news release from Gabriel Levesque at the Waterville center.

Participating students are home schooled, or from Gardiner Area, Lawrence, Maine Academy of Natural Sciences, Maine Central Institute, Messalonskee, Temple Academy, Waterville Senior, Winthrop and Winslow high schools.
