WATERVILLE – On Monday, February 20, 2023 Laura went home to her God in heaven with her family members and friends by her side. She was born in 1928 in Chicago, and attended high school at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI. After high school graduation, she went to Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansa, where she pursued a degree in music. After graduation she moved to Boston to study at the New England Conservatory of Music. She went on to New York City and studied with the acclaimed voice coach Estelle Liebling. While she was in New York City, she lived on a nickel a day.

She married Robert Kee, and they had two children Mary and Bobby. They lived in Stratford, Conn. She became the soprano soloist at the First Congregational Church in Stratford where she sang for almost 30 years. In addition to weekly services at the church she sang at Temple B’Nai Israel in Hebrew during their high holy days.

In 1967 she began working in real estate. It wasn’t long until she had her own office with two other Realtors working for her. In 1979 she was elected the first woman Director of the Fairfield County Board of Realtors. She enjoyed a long and successful career in real estate.

She moved to Maine in the late 1990s, settling in Palermo. She later lived in Augusta and then Waterville. She spent the last five years of her life living with her daughter Mary, two Maine Coon kitties named Daisy and Petunia and a gray and white kitty named Maxine. She was predeceased by her son, Bobby
