Mark McNaughton

FARMINGDALE – Mark Allen McNaughton, 63, of Farmingdale, passed peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 25, 2023. He was born June 29, 1959, in Augusta to Edward and Johan (Allen) McNaughton, eldest of five children.

Mark graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1977. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business information systems from the University of Phoenix campus in Southern California, He was most recently employed by Gainwell Technologies.

Mark was most proud of his family, his work ethic, and his faith. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed reading. He also enjoyed game night with his son, brother and close friend, Dennis Guerrette.

Mark was always good for an intriguing conversation. He was a gentle man who had a great laugh and gave the best hugs.

Mark was predeceased by his sisters Jennifer and Ruth.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy; and son, Brian of Farmingdale. He loved them both dearly and fiercely. He is also survived by his mother, Johan Brown, of Augusta, father, Edward and stepmother, Katie, of Hallowell; brother, John and wife, Sarah of Hallowell, sister, Rebecca McNaughton and Bud Gammon of Windsor, and sister-in-law, Kim Budy of Newbury Park, Calif. His nieces and nephews include Nicole (Matt) Simon of Tampa, Fla., Brittany Barnes of Winthrop, Jonathan “Zack” McNaughton of Morganville, W.Va., Ian McNaughton of Provo, Utah, Mallory (Gunnar) Ferguson of Layton, Utah, Vaughn Fuller of Gardiner, Ben Fuller of Chelsea, Samanta (Mikey) Hamlin of Port Hueneme, Calif., and LiAnne Budy of San Fernando Valley, Calif.

Mark remembers walking to Hubbard Library with his grandparents every week to check out books. He has always been an avid reader and was quite proud of the library he’d built at home.

Mark’s visiting hours will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 4 Hasson St., Farmingdale on Fri., March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at the same location.
