AUGUSTA – Victor Hanson, 80, of Augusta, died at Maine Medical Center on March 5, 2023. Victor was born June 6, 1942, to Wilment “Bill”, and Lucy Hanson in Monroe, Maine. Victor worked as a telephone lineman for most of his adult life. It was his training and occupation in the U.S. Army until 1964, and he retired from NYNEX in 1991, after 27 years of service. He was the Head Outside Lineman in Augusta. He belonged to the telephone company Pioneers and committed his time to numerous volunteer efforts, including Talking Books repair and at his home Church. Victor was predeceased by his parents and first wife, Eugenia Hills, as well as four brothers and his sister. He

is survived by his brother, Hilton, his wife of 40 years, Mary, daughter, Brenda Smith, and sons, Stephen, Jaime, and Christopher. He also leaves his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing at 12:30 p.m. and funeral at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 18, at the Augusta First

Church of the Nazerene.
