NORRIDGEWOCK – Dawn Cooper Merrill, 85, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Dawn was born on Feb. 2, 1938, to Vaughn and Beatrice Cooper and grew up in Anson. She was a graduate of Madison High School, class of 1956. She was the second of six children.

Dawn married Richard Merrill on June 22, 1956, and they had seven children: Darlene and husband Lewis Nolan, David and wife Darlene, Dana and wife Vicki, Dwayn and wife Brianna, Dannie and wife Laura, Debbie and husband Jonhard Joensen, and Dale Merrill.

Dawn was predeceased by her parents, sister Francis Hutchinson, sister Kareen Gilbert, brother Duane Cooper, brother Daryl Cooper, husband Dick, daughter Darlene, and son David.

Dawn is survived by sister Caroleen Caldwell, sister in law Edna Taber, and Francis Merrill. Dawn’s dearest blessings and treasures were her family. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she loved deeply. Her family continues to carry out her legacy.

Dawn’s faith was of utmost importance to her and it was evident in how she lived her life. She and her husband were founding members of Crossroad Bible Church in Madison. Some of Dawn’s many gifts were hospitality (she knew no stranger) and servanthood (to her Heavenly Father, her family, community, and church). She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman.

Service and memorial will be held on Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m., at Crossroads Bible Church (705 White School House Road, Madison, Maine 04950).
