Chad Michael Whitten

MANCHESTER – Chad Michael Whitten, 40, of Manchester, died unexpectedly on March 15, 2023, at his home.

He was born in Augusta on May 10, 1982, the son of Dwight and Penny (Perry) Whitten.

He grew up in Manchester where he attended the local schools and lived most of his life. Chad had a love for art, skateboarding, mining, playing guitar, hand drums, and singing with friends and family.

Chad became an amazing tattoo artist. He left his mark on many with his art and his soul. He has always been kindhearted and thoughtful taking a special interest in those struggling and tried to better their lives and make them feel special. Chad’s relationships with family and friends meant the world to him. Chad’s shining light and love of his life was his daughter, Ophelia, who brought him immense love, joy, and purpose.

Chad was predeceased by his brother, Cory Whitten; grandmother, Marion Brunelle, grandfathers Donald Perry and Maynard Whitten; and his uncle, Michael Perry.

He is survived by his parents, Dwight and Penny Whitten; his daughter, Ophelia Whitten; niece, Ava Whitten; and numerous aunts, uncles; and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at Manchester Lions Club on April 1 from 1-4 p.m., to share stories, memories, and celebrate Chad.

Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, One Church St., Augusta, where memories, condolences and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of our website at http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camden National Bank for the benefit of Chad’s daughter, Ophelia Whitten.
