Clifford Edward Moulton Sr.

PITTSTON – Clifford Edward Moulton Sr., 83, of Pittston, died Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.

Born in Gardiner, Maine on June 26, 1939, to Wilmer S. and Gladys Moulton, Clifford grew up in Pittston with his six siblings. He continued on to graduate from Gardiner High School in 1958, where he met his lifelong love Carol Ann, who was later married September 13, 1958. Clifford worked diligently to support his family, employed with W.B. Sparrow starting at the age of 16, until retirement in the summer of 2004.

Clifford was a crafty, kind, honest, strong willed loving man, who cared deeply for his family and friends. He always had a story, a gift, a surprise or a fig newton.

He loved old western shows, Perry Mason, and enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, particularly the “funnies”. Throughout his life he enjoyed growing and working in his garden with his children and then grandchildren. In addition, he had a number of other hobbies including woodwork, creating unique wind chimes, hunting, fishing, collecting coins and playing tic tac toe with “his boys”.

He was predeceased by his parents; son Lance Moulton; five siblings, Wilmer R., Jon, and Linwood Moulton, Leah Moulton, and Linda Marsh and son in law Boyd Baker.

Clifford is survived by his wife Carol Ann; brother, David Moulton and wife Jane; four children, Bethany Baker, Clifford E. Moulton, Jr. “Chip”, Jay Moulton and wife Lisa, and Craig Moulton and wife Sue; daughter in law, Shirley Moulton; seven grandchildren, Aimee Forbush and husband Kevin, Scott Moulton and wife Sam, Kimberly Tarrio and husband Matthew, Phillip Moulton and wife Elizabeth, Trina Gurney and husband Zac, Jennifer Baker and partner Levi, and Shawna Manis and husband Andy; five step grandchildren, Karen Diprizio, Katy Diprizio, Jamie Damon, James Diprizio, Jr., and Jesse Diprizio; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-grandsons he called “his boys” Parker, Maverick and Nash; one great-great-grandchild, and countless close friend and family.

A service will not be held per Clifford’s wishes. The family thanks and appreciates all visits, phone calls, and overwhelming love that has been conveyed during this difficult time.
