SIDNEY — Maine Arts Academy Student Theater Company plans to present its seventh annual Ten Minute Play Festival at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 5 and 6, in Alumni Hall on the MeAA campus, 11 Goldenrod Lane.

The evenings will include five original plays written, directed and performed by MeAA Theater students. The event also will feature an art sale and photography exhibit presented by MeAA’s Visual Arts students.

This year’s plays will provide audiences with a glimpse into different worlds and varying perspectives, according to a news release from Diane Manter at the school.

The five original plays include: “Lady Slippers,” written by Erica Roussel and directed by Owen Hines; “Embers,” written by Allie Thaller and directed by Emily Carlton; “Strawberries,” written by Carlton and directed by Noah Speildenner; “Under Review,” written by Aleah Sebrey and directed by Hannah “Atlas” Piecewicz; and “Migration,” written by Ollie Bickford and directed by Thaller.

According to junior Piecewicz, “The festival allows me as a student director to bring my artistic vision to life through collaboration with other student playwrights and actors.”

Appetizers are included in the ticket price. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
