Le Club Calumet plans to present a Cabaret Night with Maine Entertainer Louis Philippe and special guest Father Frenchie at 7 p.m. Friday, May 5,  at Le Club Calumet, 334 W, River Road, in Augusta.
Philippe is a Portland-based singer/actor/recording artist who has been entertaining in the central and southern Maine regions for decades, including starring in many lead roles in musicals staged at Portland Lyric Theater, Portland Players, Community Little Theater in Auburn and Biddeford City Theater.
Philippe, who also plays piano, particular enjoys sharing his talents with senior groups, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and retirement homes, including several here in the Augusta area.
He has been involved with Music Ministry since he was 18, played for Masses, weddings and funerals at many Portland area churches and has served as Music Director for St. Pius X Church in Portland and St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook. Now retired from the Diocese of Portland, he continues to provide music for funerals Masses when needed and has filled in for Augusta’s St. Michael’s Parish at St. Augustine, St. Mary and St. Joseph Churches.
