BATH — Tenley Elizabeth Wurglitz, Kennebec Estuary Land Trust’s land consultant, plans to join nature enthusiast Jane Harrison in leading a stroll from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, of the Sewall Woods Preserve.
Participants can experience the opening of buds, the unfurling of baby leaves, and the emergence of early spring wildflowers, according to a news release from Becky Kolak with the trust.
The program will start from the preserve parking lot. The trail head is located on Whiskeag Road.
If participants are interested, leaders will explain the basics of plant identification and share some of their favorite resources for exploring the world of plants. The route will cover about 1.5 miles round trip on natural surface trails with a few small hills. Participants can ask questions, and families with children are welcome. Pets should be left home, and participants should bring sturdy hiking shoes.
This event will be capped at 12 participants to ensure an intimate setting ; registration is required. To register, visit kennebecestuary.org or call 207-442-8400.
