Richard J. Geroux,

WEST GARDINER – Richard J. Geroux, of West Gardiner passed away April 21, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. Rick was born on Dec. 24, 1957, in Damariscotta. He attended Lincoln Academy and worked for the local Yellowfront Grocery Store.

Rick met the love of his life, Sharon, in 1979 and they both knew from the moment they met, that they would be together forever. The couple had two children, Victor and Victoria. Some of the fondest memories were made camping at Abenaki Campground in Skowhegan and The Birches Campground in Litchfield. The family also took many trips to Florida.

Rick spent the majority of his career at Digital/SCI, until the plant closed its doors in 2003. He and his son went back to school to acquire a CDL license, and Rick spent the remainder of his career with Chapman Trucking Company. He would be remembered most for his patience. Many would say, “he had patience further than the day is long”.

When he wasn’t hard at work, you could find him under a car, or with a fishing pole in one hand and a Miller High Life in the other. He also had a knack for cooking up an excellent meal. Rick loved fixing things, there truly wasn’t anything he could not fix. He loved all things from animals to people, and they loved him.

Rick was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Hazel.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; two children, Victor and Victoria; sisters Lynn, Jody, Cindy and brother, Anthony; grandsons Jeffery, Tyrone and Jayden; great-grandson, Kirin; many nieces, nephews; and extended family.

Please join us in remembrance of this wonderful man at a celebration of life, Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m., at the West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club, 300 Collins Mills Rd., West Gardiner.
