SALEM TOWNSHIP — Charlie Houghton and Trenton Hutchinson combined for the shutout as the Dirigo baseball team took down Mt. Abram 2-0 on Friday.

Houghton scattered three hits while striking out three in six innings, and Hutchinson closed out the victory by pitching the seventh to earn the save. Houghton helped his cause with a pair of hits, and Trent Holman’s first-inning RBI double got the Dirigo offense going. Trevor Crosby stole three bases for the Cougars (2-0).

Bryce Wilcox pitched the first two innings for Mt. Abram (4-1), allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three, before being relieved by Logan Dube. Payton Mitchell pitched the seventh.

 

HALL-DALE 10, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: The Bulldogs (2-3) got their bats going early in a road win over the Falcons (0-4) in Rumford.

Ben Nathan, Jackson Leach and Trevor Kalloch each drove in runs in the top of the first inning for Hall-Dale. The trio all recorded RBI hits again in the second.

Mountain Valley scored all of its runs in the fourth. Seneca Jones drove in a pair and Rilan Farnum brought home the other.

 

MT. BLUE 14, OXFORD HILLS 4: The Cougars (4-2) exploded for nine runs in the fifth inning on their way to a win over the Vikings (4-1) in Paris.

Mt. Blue led 2-1 before the nine-run outburst put it up 11-1. Oxford Hills staved off the mercy rule with one run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth. The Cougars plated three more runs in the seventh.

Nolan Leso had two hits and drove in three runs for Mt. Blue. Hayden Durrell also had two hits while driving in two runs, and Ike Wrigley doubled, drove in two runs and scored two. Brody Walsh and Gage DeCarolis contributed two RBIs apiece. Zak Koban and Zach Poisson each scored three runs.

Walsh allowed three hits and four runs while striking out four in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win for Mt. Blue. Reliever Hayden Dippner didn’t allow a hit in 1 1/3 innings.

Oxford Hills starter Eli Soehren struck out five in 5 2/3 innings before being relieved by Binette.

 

LEAVITT 6, GARDINER 5: A four-run second inning was the difference for the Hornets as they edged the Tigers (1-4) in Turner.

Gardiner scored three in the top of the second before Leavitt answered to take a 4-3 lead. The Hornets added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth and the Tigers responded with two in the top of the sixth.

Connor DeCoster had a pair of hits for Leavitt, including a double, to go along with two RBIs. Noah Carpenter and Will Keach also doubled. Keach pitched the first six innings to earn the win, and Kade Knight tossed a scoreless seventh to secure the save.

CONY 9, BELFAST 2: Kam Douin homered and drove in four runs as the Rams (5-1) earned the win at Augusta.

Douin finished 2 for 4. Parker Morin had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for Cony, while teammate Landon Foster added two hits and David Kibler scored twice.

Jordan Benedict (four innings, three hits) and Lance Theriault (three innings, one hit, two runs) split the pitching duties for Cony.

KJ Payson took the loss for Belfast (2-4). Curtis Littlefield walked twice.

OXFORD HILLS 13, MT. BLUE 0: Freshmen Kyeria Morse and Cameron Mayhan combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Vikings (4-0), whose bats took care of business for a five-inning win over the Cougars (1-5) in Paris.

Morse allowed the lone hit while striking out six in three innings, and Mayhan struck out two more in two hitless innings.

Morse also helped out her own cause with a hit and an RBI. Kaydence Morse paced Oxford Hills with four hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Maddy Miller and Miah Gallan each had three hits, with Miller driving in four and Gallan one. Atalie Campbell added a pair of hits.

Alyssa Simineau, who pitched for Mt. Blue, recorded the team’s lone hit. The Cougars drew four walks against Vikings pitchers.

BELFAST 4, CONY 1: Jordyn MacKay threw a five-hitter as the Lions (3-2) earned the win in Augusta.

Abby Brown had two singles for the Rams (0-4). Suri Ramkissoon took the loss for Cony.

 

DIRIGO 5, MT. ABRAM 0: Grace Robbins pitched a complete-game shutout and also hit a double as the Cougars (3-1) blanked the Roadrunners (1-4) in Dixfield.

Robbins scattered four hits and one walk while striking out two. Emma MacFarlane also doubled for Dirigo, which scored single runs in the first, second and third innings before capping off the scoring with two in the fifth.

Adrianna Stinchfield struck out five batters in six innings for Mt. Abram, and Aiyanna Savage hit a double.

HALL-DALE 13, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Jade Graham had a home run and four RBIs as the Bulldogs (5-0) remained undefeated with the win at Rumford.

Graham finished with three hits and was a triple shy of the cycle. Teammates and Zoe Soule and Lucy Gray also had three hits each, and Torie Tibbetts tripled. Pitcher Ashlynn Donahue threw a three-hitter.

Ashlynn Donahue took the loss for Mountain Valley (1-6).

CONY 16, DEERING 3: Isabella Smith, Dinah Wadleigh and Abby Morrill scored three goals apiece as the Rams (5-1) won handily in Portland.

Casey Monson and Azabell Assaf each scored twice for Cony, while Addison Lebel, Maci Freeman and Kennedy Frye added one goal apiece. Madi Chavarie (five saves) and Avery Maxim (one) split time in goal.

Shay Rosenthal scored all three goals for Deering (0-5), while Isabelle Adji made 13 saves.

 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 13, LAWRENCE 6: Marley LeBel posted six goals and an assist, while Mariam Delisle chipped in with three goals to lift the Eagles (4-1) over the Bulldogs (0-5) in Fairfield.

Hunter Gilmore made nine saves for Lincoln.

Madison Chamberlain scored five goals for Lawrence.
