AUGUSTA — Parker Morin allowed one hit, struck out five batters and walked one in 5 2/3 innings of relief to lead the Cony baseball team to a 3-1 victory over Leavitt on Saturday.

Jordan Benedict had three singles for Cony (6-1), and Kam Douin made three outstanding catches in the field. Landon Foster pitched 1 1/3 innings for the Rams, allowing two hits, striking out one and walking three.

Colton Taylor took the loss for Leavitt (4-2). The Hornets got a double from Kade Knight and a triple from Noah Carpenter.

 

HALL-DALE 8, MADISON 0: Cody Dupont threw a one-hitter as the Bulldogs (2-3) prevailed at Farmingdale.

Dupont struck out seven batters and walked no one. Ben Nathan led Hall-Dale’s offense with three hits, and Dupont drove home two runs.

Up 1-0, Hall-Dale broke the game open with a seven-run fifth inning.

Matthew Hailey had the lone hit for Madison (2-3).

 

WINTHROP 4, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: The Ramblers (4-1) survived a challenge from the young Falcons (0-5) in Rumford.

Tyler Shumway went 3 for 4 and drove in all four of the Ramblers’ runs. Brayden Stubbert added a pair of hits and scored one run for Winthrop. Jaxon August scored twice and Matt Beck hit a triple.

Winthrop added another run in the fifth. The Falcons plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but their rally ended with the tying run on first base.

Winthrop sophomore pitcher Trent Collin earned the win in relief. He entered the game in the third inning and struck out six while allowing only one hit over five innings. Shumway pitched the first two innings, giving up one hit and one run and striking out five.

Falcons pitcher Tyler Warren had five strikeouts while allowing four runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Jake New relieved Warren and got the final out of the seventh inning, inducing a bases-loaded groundout.

 

SKOWHEGAN 8, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Silas Tibbetts fired a one-hitter as the River Hawks (6-1) won easily at Rockport.

Tibbetts struck out seven and walked one. Brian Leonard homered for Camden Hills’s only hit.

Tyler Annis had two hits for Skowhegan, including a double. Teammate Brendan Dunlap walked three times and Noah McMahon twice.

Hunter Bell took the loss for Camden Hills (1-4).

 

GARDINER 5, MORSE 2: Theron Corliss was 3 for 3 with two RBIs as the Tigers (2-4) won at Gardiner.

Alexx Roy was 2 for 2 with two walks and two runs scored for Gardiner, while Chase Burgess drove home three runs. Pitcher Gavin White went the distance, allowing eight hits while striking out four and walking two.

Gavin Baillargeon homered for Morse (2-6), while Ashford Hays had three hits and Calin Gould two.

SACOPEE VALLEY 10-11, MARANACOOK 0-1: Carson Black struck out 14 while throwing a five-inning perfect game in a doubleheader opener, and Grady Cummings pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the second game as Sacopee Valley (8-0) remained undefeated by winning twice against Maranacook in Hiram, 10-0 and 11-1.

Maranacook (3-5) had just one base runner — a bloop single by Jay McLaughlin leading off the second game.

Black finished Game 1 with 13 consecutive strikeouts. Caleb Vacchiano put the mercy rule into effect by hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth.

The second game also went just five innings.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 12, LISBON 2: Three big innings carried the Mustangs (4-1) to a key MVC win over the Greyhounds (2-1) in Lisbon.

Monmouth scored all of its runs in three innings: five in the second, three in the fourth and four in the seventh.

Isaac Oliveira and Hunter Frost each drove in two runs for the Mustangs. Seven of the team’s nine batters had hits, led by Sam Calder’s two singles and doubles by Matt Maquis and Manny Calder. All but one Monmouth hitter scored a run — Kyle Palleschi, Sam Calder, Marquis and Brandon Smith scored two apiece.

Sam Calder earned the win by striking out seven and allowing four hits and no walks over 4 2/3 scoreless innings. Oliveira fanned three in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Lisbon’s Levi Tibbetts hit two doubles and finished with a game-high three hits. He also scored one of the Greyhounds’ two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 33, WISCASSET/BOOTHBAY 1: Maddie Herr had four hits and four RBIs as the Mustangs (5-0) remained undefeated at Wiscasset (0-7).

Rileigh Chase had three hits and five RBIs for Monmouth, while Shanna Parsons had three hits and four RBIs. Riley Smith and June Foyt also had three hits, and Brooklyn Federico homered.

Parsons and Smith combined to throw a one-hitter.

 

LEAVITT 10, CONY 2: Abby Albert had three hits as the Hornets (5-1) won easily at Augusta.

Suri Ramkissoon had three hits for Cony (0-6).

 

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 14, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 5: Ashley Deschamp and Xanthe Sawlivich each scored four goals to lead the Black Bears (1-3) past the Raiders (0-6) in Readfield.

Eliza Pattershall chipped in with three goals. Alice Ferran, Lily Caban and Emerson Davis also scored.

Grace Murley led Fryeburg with two goals.

 

BOYS LACROSSE

 

EDWARD LITTLE 17, MCI/NOKOMIS 2: Andrew Clements, Austin Sellinger and Evan O’Donnell each scored three goals as the Red Eddies (2-2) roared past the Huskies (0-7) in Auburn.

Clements also tallied an assist, five ground balls and won 13 faceoffs. Garrett Hedges added two goals and three assists and Garrett Pray contributed two goals and one assist for Edward Little. Jonah Guay, Max Brann, Milo Small and Orrin Slover scored one goal apiece.

Red Eddies goalie Cam Dufor stopped seven shots.
