NEWPORT — Mia Coots pitched a complete game gem and Camryn King belted a triple to lead the Nokomis softball team to a 4-1 victory over Winslow in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference softball game Monday afternoon.

Coots allowed just three hits.

Abby Hawthorne had two hits for the Warriors (9-0).

Emma Michaud homered and singled for Winslow (3-7).

 

MESSALONSKEE 3, OXFORD HILLS 2: The Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to walk it off and knock the Vikings from the ranks of the unbeaten in Oakland.

Morgan Wills threw a complete-game one-hitter for Messalonskee (6-3). Elise McDonald had two hits and three RBIs for the Eagles in the win.

Kyeria Morse took the loss for Oxford Hills (8-1).

 

MARANACOOK 10, MOUNT VIEW 0 (5 innings): Alexis Michaud tossed a one-hitter, striking out 11 and walking none, as the Black Bears earned the mercy-rule win in Thorndike.

Michaud also added two doubles and two RBIs for Maranacook (9-2). Esme Jamison also had two doubles and two RBIs while Shylah Woodford had two doubles and an RBI.

Emily Richards had a single for Mount View (3-9).

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 6, WINTHROP 5: Brooklyn Federico pitched out of a jam in the bottom of the seventh as the Mustangs held off the Ramblers in Winthrop.

The Ramblers (5-4) had the potential tying run on third and winning run on second when Federico induced a groundout to end the game.

Federico struck out 14 batters for Monmouth (10-0) while scattering eight hits. She had two hits of her own, and Shanna Parsons had two doubles.

Winthrop pitcher Lauryn Wood had 14 strikeouts of her own against nine hits. She also hit a double and two singles. Ella Rice homered and added two singles.

MCI 14, ERSKINE 2: Kassie Snowman pitched five strong innings and Skyla Dean had two hits to lead the Huskies to the KVAC victory in South China.

Snowman struck out three and allowed four hits to earn the victory.

Kayleigh Dunton, Jyllian Riendeau and Snowman each drove in runs as well.

 

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 7, MT. ABRAM 4: The Phoenix (9-2) answered the Roadrunners’ (2-7) two-run bottom of the third with a five run top of the fourth to grab the road win in Salem Township.

Rylee Turner earned the win in the circle for Spruce Mountain, scattering five hits in seven innings. Leah Burgess tripled and singled for the Phoenix.

Adrianna Stinchfield allowed just four hits in seven innings for Mt. Abram. Ari Dereszynski had three hits for the Roadrunners.

 

CONY 12, WATERVILLE 5: Alivia St. Peter went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run and three doubles to lead the Rams to the win in Augusta.

Abby Brown had a double for Cony (2-8).

Waterville fell to 0-9.

HALL-DALE 18, DIRIGO 2: The Bulldogs pulled away in the final three innings of a five-inning win in Dixfield.

Hall-Dale (10-0) scored five in the third, four in the fourth and eight in the fifth to cut the game short. The Bulldogs compiled 14 hits.

Marie Benoit and Torie Tibbetts each had two doubles, and Zoe Soule and Lucy Gray also had two hits. Ashlyn Donahue added a triple. Rita Benoit pitched a three-hitter while striking out 11 batters.

Grace Robbins hit a triple and Kallie Errington doubled for Dirigo (3-4).

MONMOUTH 10, WINTHROP 5: Luke Harmon’s three-run home run gave the Mustangs breathing room as they held off the rival Ramblers in Monmouth.

The Mustangs (9-1) entered the fifth inning holding on to a 6-5 lead. They plated one run and then Harmon hit his third home run of the season — “He put it in the woods,” Monmouth coach Eric Palleschi said — to increase the lead to five runs, 10-5.

The Mustangs scored three runs in the second and three more in the third to go up 6-0, but Winthrop (7-3) cut its deficit to one with a five-run fourth inning.

Kyle Palleschi finished with a game-high three hits for Monmouth and drove in two runs. Matt Marquis and Hunter Frost each contributed two hits, and Marquis drove in two runs.

Mustangs starter Isaac Oliveira earned his first win of the season.

Jaxon August and Brayden Stubbert had RBI singles for the Ramblers.

DIRIGO 14, HALL-DALE 6: The Cougars shrugged off a five-run first by the Bulldogs to roll to a win in Dixfield.

Dirigo answered with an eight-run bottom of the first, then scored its other six runs all in the fourth. Hall-Dale scored the game’s final run in the top of the fifth.

Austin Adams allowed just one earned run on seven hits and three walks while striking out four in seven innings to pick up the complete game and the win. He also had two hits at the plate and scored two runs.

Travis Wright and Nathaniel Wainwright also had two hits for the Cougars (5-2) with Wainwright, Trevor Crosby and Airick Richard all hitting doubles. Wright, Richard, Dakota Tompkins and Trent Holman each drove in two runs.

Eben Austin had a double and a single and drove in two runs for the Bulldogs (4-6).

GARDINER 6, LEAVITT 5: Patrick Mansir had a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs to give the Tigers the win in Gardiner.

Mansur also had a double and earned the pitching win for Gardiner (4-6). Dylan Farnham belted a double also.

Noah Carpenter had a triple, a double and an RBI for Leavitt (6-5).

 

MT. ABRAM 3, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 2: Payton Mitchell, Bryce Wilcox and Kaden Pillsbury combined on a three-hitter as the Roadrunners (6-2) edged the Phoenix (5-5) in Salem Township.

Pillsbury also had two hits for Mt. Abram. Wilcox threw out a lead-off runner in the sixth while playing catcher that erased a Spruce Mountain threat.

Eli Timler pitched a complete game for the Phoenix, scattering six hits.

 

GIRLS LACROSEE

 

CONY 15, LAWRENCE 6: Casey Monson and Abby Morrill each had hat tricks as the Rams rolled past the Bulldogs in Augusta.

Azabell Assaf, Maci Freeman and Dinah Wadleigh had two goals each for Cony (8-2), and Adelynn Gariola, Ashley Tobias and Rhya Turner had a goal apiece. Madi Chaverie made four saves for the Rams.

Lawrence (2-6) got three goals from Madison Chamberlain and two from Zoie Ward. Abbey Morgan made 16 saves.
