KNOX – Meredith (McDonough) Murch of Knox passed away suddenly at home on April 26, 2023, at the age of 92.
Meredith was born on July 15, 1930, in Belfast to Earle and Bessie Russ McDonough. As a child, Meredith attended schools in Knox and Belfast. As a young woman, she earned her license in cosmetology and worked at Cliff’s Hair Styling Salon with her brother, Cliff, for 14 years. Meredith proudly owned and operated a poultry and dairy farm in Knox where she resided for over 70 years after the passing of her husband Edwin Berry on May 7, 1961.
Meredith was predeceased by her parents; her two brothers, Clifford and Lester; and a niece, Deborah Hunter who made her home with Meredith for many years.
Meredith is survived by her sons Thomas Berry and wife Susan of Freedom, Michael Murch and his wife Janet of Unity, and a daughter, Constance Corey and her husband Walter, Sr. of Waldo; and a nephew, Duane McDonough and his wife Carol of Florida; as well as three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Per Meredith’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
