Ruth Foster Bryant

AUGUSTA – Ruth Foster Bryant passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 30, 2023. She was born on Oct. 7, 1930. Formerly from Winthrop, she lived at Glenridge Long Term Care, where she finally won her 17-year struggle with the long goodbye of dementia.

Ruth worked as an R.N., touching thousands of lives for over 50 years. So many of those reading this have been touched by her and will never know her impact. An amazing woman with a true, saving faith in Jesus Christ, her whole life of service was a witness of His love.

She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Rachel Foster; her three sisters, Rosemary Foster of Winthrop, Roberta Towns Raynor of Hammond, La., and Regina Whiteford of Nutley, N.J.; her eldest son Theodore A. “Rusty” Bryant Jr, and a stepson, Stephen Bryant.

She is survived by her sons Timothy R. Bryant of Clinton, Tenn., Christopher C. Bryant of Orono, and David A. Bryant and his wife Amy of Center Point, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters Sally Wallace of Lewiston and Betty Bryant of Jefferson; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ruth did not want a service after her passing but she hoped all those who loved her would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, celebrate her life, and dwell with her in the house of the Lord forever. If you knew her, you were blessed with the best friend you could ask for. If she ever cared for you, you were blessed with the very best hands that could have held you. If you were her family, you were blessed with the greatest, most honest and genuine love that any woman could freely give.

The family extends a huge thank you to Glenridge and Beacon Hospice for the great care they provided.
