WASHINGTON — Gibbs Library plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at the 40 Old Union Road library, as well as the Evening Star Grange, 31 Old Union Road.
Highlighting the celebration will be book talks and a book signing featuring Maine children’s author Chris Van Dusen and Maine novelist Paul Doiron.
Student art show awards will be given, and a history of the library will be on display in the library. Refreshments will be served.
Events are free, although donations will be accepted.
At the library, an ongoing library history display will be on view all day and the art show awards will be presented at 11:15 a.m.
At the Grange, a pick-a-prize raffle begins at 11 a.m., for which tickets cost $1 each or $5 for six. A handmade braided rug also will be raffled off, for which tickets cost $5 each with only 100 tickets available.
Van Dusen’s talk and book signing is set for noon-1 p.m.; books will be available for purchase at the event. Refreshments will be available from 1-2:15 p.m.
Doiron will be available to talk and sign books from 2:30-4 p.m. Books are available for purchase. Raffle drawings are set for 3:45 p.m.
