United Way of the Tri-Valley Area’s charity auction is getting a facelift. On Saturday, June 3, its bigger, better Auction for Action is scheduled be held at the Starbird Building at the Farmington Fairground, 292 High St.

A portion of proceeds will benefit youth in the area through programs such as the Hope Fund, Packs for Progress and various community partners that focus on area youth, according to a news release from Nichole Ernest with the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area.

It’s going to be a luau, so attendees should dig out the most Hawaiian shirt and leis. The Merry Plinksters will perform on the ukulele during the silent auction segment of the evening to help set the mood. The silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. The live auction will begin at 6 p.m.

Al Tuttle will be the auctioneer for the evening. Canty Kitchen & Confections will provide the catering, and the menu will give off an island feel. Lafleur’s Restaurant will offer a cash bar.

There are items to bid on, including:
• Seven-day condo in Florida;
• Campground stays;
• Outdoor recreation opportunities;
• Various gift certificates;
• Baskets;
• Box seats at the Portland Sea Dogs;
• Red Sox tickets; and
