SOUTH PARIS — University of Maine Cooperative Extension plans offer a workshop for adults and youth on monarch butterflies at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at 9 Olson Road.

Master Gardener Volunteer Nancy Donovan will hold “Assisting the Path of the Monarch Butterfly.” People can learn about this seasonal visitor to Maine and how planting natives can provide essential habitat.

Donovan is an avid native plant gardener who raised 171 monarch butterflies from egg to release last year.

Registration is required; a sliding scale fee is optional.
