HARMONY – Mary Richards, 73, died peacefully at her home on June 9, 2023, in Harmony. She was born on Sept. 7, 1949, in Warwick, R.I. She graduated from East Greenwich High School with the class of 1967.

She worked for Dexter Shoe for about 10 years and then she managed the Harmony Transfer Station for over 15 years. This was a job that she really loved and was honored in the 2022 Annual Report of Harmony for her dedication.

Mary loved being a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting socks and giving them to those she loved. She like connecting with her friends and family on Facebook and enjoyed playing on her computer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Victor Richards; her children, Shelly Northup, Anna Marie Weston, Brenda Glidden and husband Joe, and Victoria Richards; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Floyd and wife Debbie, Mark and wife Dot, Paul, and Carol and husband Jerry; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jodi Patterson.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Patricia.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Chadbourne Cemetery, Chadbourne Road, Harmony, with Pastor Ron Cunningham officiating.
