Lawrence Michael Iaciofano III

HALLOWELL – Lawrence Michael Iaciofano III, 38, passed away June 8, 2023. He was born on the 4th of July in 1984, a son of Lisa Shea and the late Lawrence M. Iaciofano Jr.

Lawrence, AKA “Buddy”, grew up in Maine and Florida and graduated from Belleview High School in Belleview, Fla. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Mortuary Affairs for three years before his honorable discharge. He served in Kuwait and Iraq. Buddy held various jobs following his service, including restaurants such as The Liberal Cup and Cushnoc Brewing Co. For one year, he owned and operated Buddy’s Diner in Hallowell, located on the corners of Water Street and Winthrop Street.

Buddy was enrolled at the University of Maine at Augusta in the cyber security program. He recently earned his CompTIA+ security certification and was excited to venture into a new career.

Buddy was a fun-loving guy with a great personality and a heart of gold. He was a member of American Legion Post #6 in Hallowell. He was a foosball master and was talented with a hacky sack. Buddy was known for his beautiful baritone voice. Buddy was a popular Hallowell personality and shared his vocal gifts at local karaoke as well as delighting taste buds with his talent in kitchens.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather; sister, stepbrothers, girlfriend; uncles, aunts; cousins.

A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16 at 3 p.m. Burial will take place on Friday, July 14 at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME (section J).
