It all started in 2011 when director Ken Scott put his French Canadian film “Starbuck” on the market, and soon we’re told, it was the most successful film in Canada.

Still, nobody outside of Canada knew much about it.

Now we’ve got it.

Scott’s remake of his film with Vince Vaughn as the local miscreant David Wozniak, the little brother who never grew up.

David, miraculously, has a sane emotionally mature girlfriend (Cobie Smulders) who is pregnant. Even worse, she is a cop. Yes, right. Not kidding.

David delivers the meat from his family meat package company, run by his brothers, including SNL veteran Bobby Moynihan and immigrant father Mikolaj, (Andrzej Blumenfeld) while pursuing side crafts like attempts at raising marijuana plants. Yes. Got that?

We soon learn that one of his side money-making schemes while in high school was donating his sperm for cash, to a sperm bank, when somewhere they’re messed up. Got that?

We don’t learn who “they” were or how they messed up, but the result is that David is — are you ready for this? — the father of 533 kids, and worse, 142 of them have filed a lawsuit to reveal his identity. OMG.

Say what? Yes, that’s what they’re doing, and somehow all 142, of various identities, are in town looking for him. They really are.

Among his progeny, he finds a few geniuses, some normal working folks, and a few law students.

Here’s the sad part, one of them is a sweet mentally challenged boy (Sébastien René) who David discovers in a hospital. Rene, by the way, is incredible.

The gasps, laughs and tears grow when David, stricken with a Polish Catholic conscience, decides to accept blame for all of this and be as much of a father to all of them as is humanly possible. That’s 142 young adults. And you think your three kids are a problem?

This all winds up in court with David’s struggling bumble lawyer Chris Pratt.

Oh, yes, the sweet girlfriend cop, learning of all this, somehow surrenders to the boy/man sperm dispenser, hugs him, and leaves us wondering if there will be a Netflix series growing out of this secondhand joke.

I got to this movie because I love Vince Vaughn who is, like Cary Grant and Owen Wilson, always in trouble, and always plays the same guy with the same haircut. Yes, he does, but maybe you’ll love him too.

“Delivery Man” streams on Hulu.
