WEST GARDINER — The Helen Thompson School community gathered on June 2 for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the Helen Thompson school storywalk. Students voted for the “Deer Man” by Barbara Walsh as the inaugural book.

Recognition was given to Nan Bell and Healthy Communities of the Capital Area for grant funding for materials. The school’s PTA, with the leadership of Brittany Waterhouse, provided funds for materials, installation and books.

Ruben Depres volunteered to build the frames. Paul Hickey, Todd Hickey and Paul Brann installed the story frames.
