Hannaford Supermarkets is welcoming shoppers to enjoy numerous enhancements to its newly updated store at 399 Main St. in Winthrop. Designed with customer convenience in mind, the remodeled store features a fresh look, as well as new products and services.
The centerpiece of the remodel is an expansion of the store’s produce department, which has doubled in size and includes an increased assortment of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. Customers will also enjoy an increased variety of fine cheeses in a dedicated case within the deli department.
“Our new products and services are designed to make shopping as easy and convenient as possible for our customers,” said Store Manager Nick Lachapelle, according to a news release. “We’re excited to introduce an enhanced produce section and a greater variety of grab-and-go meal options to our already expansive selection of fresh, quality items. As a committed community partner, we are pleased to commemorate the successful completion of this project by donating $3,000 to the Winthrop Food Pantry.” The pantry serves families in Winthrop and Wayne.
Shoppers now have access to an extensive range of grab-and-go meal options, including chef-crafted sushi; hot wings and boneless wings; appetizers; ready-to-heat-and-eat entrees; freshly made sandwiches and salads; pasta and taco meal kits; and pizza flatbreads.
Additionally, four self-checkout kiosks have been added to enhance customer convenience, bringing the total number of kiosks in the store to eight. The Winthrop store’s full-service pharmacy now offers a private room for immunizations and consultations with pharmacists.

In celebration of the remodel, Hannaford is donating $3,000 to the Winthrop Food Pantry, which serves families and individuals experiencing food insecurity in Winthrop and Wayne.
