NEWPORT — On June 1, Regional School Unit 19 Adult Education graduated 27 students. These students have completed the requirements for their HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) or their High School Diploma (working credit by credit).

Many of the graduates are: already registered or in the process of registering with the Maine Community College System in various career paths such as medical, automotive, business and more; planning to receive additional workforce training with Job Corps; have received advances in their current jobs; or accepted into an apprenticeship program.

Mary Hunter of Bangor, a life-long learner at 99 years old, was the guest speaker. In addition, two of the graduates spoke briefly at graduation, Jeremy Hance and Heaven Mills. Diplomas were awarded by Michael Hammer, superintendent of schools, and Robin McNeil, chair of the RSU 19 School Board.

The class of 2023 includes Zachary Chase, Dustin Colfer, Garrett Dorman, Miranda Dube, John Dziekan, Hannah Fuller, Clarissa Gerry, Kolby Gervais, Payton Gilman. Paityn Gould and Cameron Gray.

Also, Jasmine Hamilton, Jocelyn Hamilton, Jeremy Hance, Rebecca Levesque, Sarah Link, Joseph Little, Johnathan McMillen, Heaven Mills, Hailie Murray and Tristan Pimental.

Also, Ashlyn Quimby, Madison Ramsdell, Natalia Roy, Makayla Salley, Dawn Smith and Carter Thibeault.
