The schedule doesn’t say where Biden will go or what he will do while in Maine. He will leave Friday evening to spend the weekend in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he has a vacation home.

White House officials said Saturday they had no additional information on the president’s visit.

This week, U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-1st District, praised the Biden administration for investing $40 million in federal agriculture funding to give Maine consumers better access to locally grown, healthy foods and to support small and midsize farmers.

The funding is part of Biden’s Investing in America effort to build resilient local economies, which brought first lady Jill Biden to Maine in April. She visited Southern Maine Community College to highlight the state’s investment in workforce training programs and free community college.

Pingree also this week announced $5 million in federal funding for affordable housing initiatives in the district, plus $2.6 million in federal funding to support outdoor recreation and conservation projects across Maine, especially those involving native peoples and underserved communities.

On Thursday, the president will welcome Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the White House “to reaffirm the strong relationship” between the two countries, according to the White House schedule. They will discuss common strategic interests, including continued support for Ukraine and closer transatlantic coordination regarding China.

On Thursday evening, Biden is scheduled to deliver remarks at the Truman Civil Rights Symposium at the National Archives.
