The New England Cannabis Network, in partnership with the Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine, plans to host the Maine Cannabis Convention from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13, at the Augusta Civic Center, 76 Community Drive, in Augusta.

NECANN cannabis conventions are designed specifically to help educate, promote and develop state-wide cannabis resources and networking opportunities with 125-plus exhibitors and 30-plus expert speakers. Cannabis business professionals, growers and consumers are invited to attend this locally focused, business-to-business convention, according to a news release from the cannabis network.

Highlighting the programming schedule is Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine Executive Director Catherine Lewis, who will provide a state of the state’s medical cannabis industry. With more than 30 expert speakers, the programming has session topics including investing, taxation, cultivation and growing techniques, starting up a cannabis business, and cooking with cannabis.

The NECANN Cup winners will also be announced at 2 p.m. Saturday on the expo floor. This includes categories like best flower, concentrates and edibles.

On the expo floor, every facet of the cannabis industry is represented, including legalization, banking, payment processing, packaging, patient education, displays and fixtures, cultivation, manufacturing, hemp, hydroponics, legal resources, accessories, POS and management software, private equity and investment resources.

The cost is $20 for a one-day pass and $30 for a two-day pass. It includes all programming sessions and access to the exhibitor floor. Attendees must be at least 18 unless accompanied by a guardian.
