AUGUSTA – Robert P. Goodrich, 72, passed away on July 26, 2023 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
He was born June 27, 1951, in Bloomington, Ill., a son of Denzel and Juanita (Butzirus) Cooper. He was adopted when his mother married Robert D. Goodrich in 1953 and his name changed to Robert P. Goodrich.
Robert was a graduate of Bradley-Bourbonnais High School in the class of 1968. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Robert eventually became an autopsy technician for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the state of Maine. He was a dedicated employee and was passionate about his line of work.
Robert was also a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Augusta and served as a devoted sacristan for 34 years. Robert will be remembered as a homebody and a hard worker.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his siblings Robin White of San Antonio, Texas, William Goodrich of San Antonio, Texas, and Eric Goodrich of Kankakee, Ill.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winthrop St., Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences, stories or photos may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
