Patrick “Pat” N. Rioux

MONMOUTH – Patrick “Pat” N. Rioux, 66, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023. He is the loving husband of Donna L. (Rice) Rioux with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Pat was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Lewiston. He was the son of the late Gerard N. and Dolores J. (Duquette) Rioux. He was a lifelong resident of Monmouth, graduated from Monmouth Academy.

Pat served on the Monmouth Fire Department as a Captain on Engine 81. He served the Town of Monmouth from 1983 to 2005. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, trapping and riding his motorcycle. He also had a love for cars and horses. He especially enjoyed drag racing on the Rioux Racing Team and lobsters. Pat was also a talented wood worker and was a member of the Monmouth Fish and Game.

Pat was the owner and operator of Pat’s Auto repair for over 35 years until his retirement. He also drove and owned 24-hour Wrecker Services for many years.

In addition to his loving wife, Donna, Pat is survived by his sons Timothy Rioux and his wife Kelly, and Jason Rioux and his wife Emily all of Monmouth. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Rioux and his wife Debbie, Roger Rioux and his partner Vanessa, David Rioux, Richard Rioux, Mark Rioux and his wife Elena, his sisters Jane Rioux and her husband Tom Gatto and Claire Walker and her husband Alan. Pat was also the loving grandfather to Patience and Porter Rioux; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Pat’s Life at the Monmouth Fish and Game on Sept. 9, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
