Joel Wing Vogel Tripp

RANDOLPH – Joel Wing Vogel Tripp passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 11, 2023. He was born Jan. 31, 1962, to Jack and Majorie (Harvey) Vogel in Augusta. Joel grew up in Belgrade and was the 6th of seven children.

Joel was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Farmingdale. He grew up going to this church which he loved along with his church family. He graduated from Mesalonskee High School in Oakland with the class of 1980.

Joel had many hobbies such as camping with his family, his wife Patti, son Dana and daughter Tara. He was a true family man which he loved and would do anything for his family and friends.

Joel started his own business in the 80’s called Tripp’s Contracting Building and Remodeling as he was a very talented carpenter and wood worker. He also worked for many years for Kennebec Contracting, and a line worker climbing poles. Joel was an amazing cook and could create any dish you could think of.

Joel was predeceased by his parents; his older brother Jack Vogel; his mother-in-law that he loved dearly, Joan E. Connon; his grandparents on both sides; Aunt Evelyn Harvey, Aunt Sis, Aunty Sara; and special friend Charlie O’Malley.

Joel is survived by his wife Patti J. Tripp of Randolph; son and daughter- in-law Dana and Deanna Connon of Topsham, daughter Tara and son-in-law Steve Frost of Winthrop; grandchildren Adele and Elsie Connon of Topsham, Jacob and Madison Frost of Winthrop. He loved his grandchildren dearly. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynda and Pete Martin of Sidney, Mary and Chris Read of China, Angela and Jeff Read of Somerville, Timothy Tibbetts of Augusta, Jim and Mary Vogel of Belgrade, Darren and Misty Vogel of China, Chris and Erin Vogel of Vassalboro, Jason Vogel of Sanford, Josh Vogel of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews. Special friends were Colleen and Dennis Fournier, Mickey O’Malley, Travis Towle, Bruce Hutchinsons, Bob (Angel), Glen Mercier, and Avis Craig and family.

A service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Main Avenue in Farmingdale on Saturday, August 26, 6 p.m. The burial will be on Monday August 28th at 5 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Belgrade.
