Kenneth E. Colomy Sr.

MANCHESTER – Kenneth E. Colomy Sr., passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family at his residence in Manchester on August 18, 2023.

He was born on December 5, 1927, to Edna and Irving Colomy.

He attended local schools and joined the Army in 1946, where he served in Japan as a military police officer. He was honorably discharged and soon after bought his farm in Manchester, Maine, and was employed by Statler Tissue Co. for over 40 years.

Ken enjoyed his farm, where over the years he had an assortment of cattle, ponies, riding and draft horses, donkeys, mules, sheep, goats, llamas, rabbits, and chickens. He also enjoyed attending county fairs, auctions and horse races.

He was predeceased by his son Kenneth E. Colomy Jr., and daughter Jill D. Colomy.

Ken is survived by his daughters; Karen O’Connor and her husband Kevin of Mt. Vernon, Judy Colomy of Augusta, Debra Colomy and her partner Ed of Augusta, and families.

He is also survived by his partner of 59 years, Dot R. Emery of Manchester, daughter Sharon L. Pruett and her husband James of Manchester, Granddaughter Jamie Pruett, and her husband Joe Bernard of Manchester and their children, Vaughn, Reece, Cali, and Jacob. Granddaughter Jill Morris and her husband Gary of Blackduck, Minnesota, and granddaughter Jordan Heide and her husband Jacob of Winthrop. He will also leave behind his loyal dog friend, Roger.

The family would like to add a special thanks to Beacon Hospice for their thoughtful and considerate approach provided by Carley, Victoria, Taylor, and Jenny.

In honoring Ken’s wishes there will be a small graveside service for family and close friends at the North Manchester Cemetery, Scribner Hill Road in Manchester on Wednesday August 23, 2023, at 3:30 p.m.
