Jeannine P. Beland

AUGUSTA – Jeannine P. Beland died in her home on Aug. 26, 2023, following a brief illness. Jeannine was born on April 28, 1936, in Augusta daughter of Theodore Pare and Florence Bilodeau Pare.

Jeannine attended St. Augustine grade school and graduated from Cony High School in 1954. She married Ronald A. Beland on May 19, 1962. She worked as a telephone operator for 34 years. She loved to read, do cross stitch, and ride shotgun across the country with Ron on their Honda Gold Wing. She loved being a memere and was always surrounded by her grandchildren. She loved animals, especially her cats, Blackie Chan, Ip and Lulu. Our mom taught us love and forgiveness were very important qualities along with being patient, kind and polite. Our mom also taught us if we believed in ourselves, we would accomplish great things.

She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Ronald of 54 years, and in laws, Armand Beland, Gerry Beland, Laurent Beland, Lawrence and Gisele Bourassa, Ronald and Alliette Couturier, Ted and Julie Rudnicki, Fernande Beland, an Lucille Beland.

Jeannine is survived by four children: Ronald Beland and wife Laurie of Gorham, Irene Peaslee and husband David of Augusta, Sandra Metrano and her partner Bill Bilodeau of Augusta, and Carol Sullivan and her husband Matthew of Augusta; grandchildren: Nicholas, Cody, Alex, Cory, William, Michael, Christopher, Eric, and Noah; and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Desjardin and her husband Garvin of Augusta, in-laws, Romeo and Linda Beland, Jeannine Rodrigue Beland, Norman and Fran Beland, Lorette Beland and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 75 Northern Ave., Augusta, Maine 04330. Burial will follow at 1 p.m., at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
