WINSLOW — Abby Morrill scored six goals to lead Cony past Winslow 10-0 in field hockey action Thursday.

Helen Dineen netted two goals for Cony (1-0), and teammates Maci Freeman and Casey Monson added one apiece. Avery Maxim made one save in goal.

Dom Giroux-Pare stopped 14 shots for Winslow (0-1).

 

ERSKINE 11, LINCOLN 1: Reese Sullivan and Bryana Barrett each scored three goals, and Lilly Clark had a goal and four assists as the Eagles won in Newcastle.

Evelyn Rousseau added two goals and an assist for Erskine (1-0), and Hannah Cohen-Mackin and Addison Mort also scored.

MESSALONSKEE 2, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Abby Stevens scored twice in the first half to send the Eagles (1-0) to a season-opening win over the Red Eddies in Oakland.

Edward Little goalie Kasey smith stopped three shots.

 

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH/MARANACOOK 2, HALL-DALE 0: The Ramblers took down the Bulldogs in Farmingdale.

Two freshmen teamed up for the first goal, as Kylee Mansir set up Piper Clark. Madeline Wagner then made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal for Winthrop.

 

MT. BLUE 6, BANGOR 0: Mikayla Wilcox’s three goals and strong performances by Katie Yeaton, Kara Daggett and Lily Huntley pace the Cougars to a season-opening win over the Rams in Bangor.

Daggett, Bree Griffin and Kali Judkins also scored goals. Huntley recorded two assists.

Bangor goalie Lydia Lynch made eight saves.

LEAVITT 2, LAWRENCE 0: A pair of second-half goals pushed the Hornets past the Bulldogs in Turner.

Freshman Ainsley Berry started the scoring with a diving goal in the third quarter, then deft passing from Emma Beedy to Maddie Morin led to a nice goal by Katie Sirois in the fourth quarter.

Leavitt goalie Emily Poland made five saves.

The Hornets were playing their first regular season game since the death of longtime coach Wanda Ward-MacLean in late June, and assistant coach Taylor Eels said that Ward-MacLean’s presence was “felt strongly on the field today.”

GARDINER 3, LEAVITT 1: Zach Reed netted two goals as the Tigers opened the season with a road win in Turner.

Aiden Paradis also scored for Gardiner (1-0). Dillion Elliott and Alexx Roy each had an assist. Goalie Connor Fairservice made two saves.

Logan Berube scored for Leavitt (0-1), and Vanya Bezhenar stopped 14 shots in goal.

 

TEMPLE ACADEMY 5, SEARSPORT 2: Addison Frank scored a hat trick as the Bereans took down the Vikings in Waterville.

Kieran Weisher and Gabe Young also scored for Temple Academy (1-0). Goalkeeper Nathan Corey made two saves.

Ashton Frank scored both goals for Searsport (0-1), which got five saves from Isaac Traves.

 

MT. ABRAM 4, MARANACOOK 0: Morgan Thibodeau scored twice as the Roadrunners earned the shutout in their season opener in Strong.

Bryce Wilcox had a goal and an assist for Mt. Abram (1-0), while Killian Pillsbury scored and Chase Ross added an assist. Keepers Logan Dube and Trey Reed each made one save in goal.

Sam St. Germain made four saves in goal for Maranacook (0-1).

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 3, RICHMOND 2 (OT): Tessa Ferguson completed a hat trick in the final minute of the second overtime as the Seagulls won in Old Orchard Beach.

Abby Roy, Sarah Davis and Lea Alivizatos each were credited with an assist.

Lila Viselli and Ella Briand scored for Richmond (0-1).

Rookie keepers Sierra Ordway and Madison Duplisea made two saves apiece for OOB (1-0).

 

CARRABEC 8, DIRIGO 0: Anna Canalas and Lia Price scored two goals each as the Cobras took down the Cougars in Dixfield.

Karen Baker, Molly Hay and Macy Plourde also scored for Carrabec (1-0). The Cobras’ other tally came via an own goal.

Lauretta Woodhead made 10 saves for Dirigo (0-1).

OAK HILL 2, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Delia Gosselin scored the go-ahead goal late in the first half as the Raiders topped the Phoenix in Wales.

Adalia Scarborough opened the scoring to put the Phoenix (0-1) up 1-0. An own goal with nine minutes to play in the first half evened the score, and Gosselin then netted the tiebreaker four minutes before halftime.

MacKenzie Vatasso made eight saves for Oak Hill (1-0), while Tyoaka Hodgkin stopped six shots for Spruce Mountain.

 

TEMPLE 7, SEARSPORT 0: Dixie Szabo bagged four goals as the Bereans breezed past the Vikings in Waterville.

Madelyn Corey and Mia Fitzpatrick were also among the scorers for Temple (1-0). Karissa DeWitt made two saves for the Bereans.

MARANACOOK 8, MT. ABRAM 0: Natalie Mohlar had three goals and two assists as the Black Bears (1-0) won their season opener at Readfield.

Phoebe Bell added two goals for Maranacook, while Hope Webb added a goal and an assist.

Evelyn Stevenson and Hadley Farley each had a goal.

Mt. Abram is 0-1.
