Geraldine Thelma (Wooley) Farmer

NORRIDGEWOCK – Geraldine Thelma (Wooley) Farmer, 90, passed away August 25, 2023, at Redington Fairview General Hospital peacefully and with family by her side.

Born in Belmont, Mass. on Nov. 6, 1932, she was the daughter of Frank and Thelma Wooley. She later moved to Maine where she met and then married the love of her life, Lawrence Farmer, on August 8, 1954, at the Baptist Church in Waterville.

Gerry worked at the shoe shop in Farmington, the Farmington Nursing Home, ran a daycare out of her home, and was the owner of Gerry’s Greenhouse for many years.

Gerry was a Seventh Day Adventist, loved to garden, and spend time with her family.

Gerry is survived by her daughter, Laurie Buxton and partner Paul of St. Albans, sons, Michael Farmer and wife Maria of Detroit, Duane Farmer and his wife Kathy of Norridgewock; sisters, Lucille Smith and husband Fred, Marsha Wooley, brothers, Neil and Darryl Wooley; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gerry was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Farmer; her parents, Frank and Thelma Wooley; a sister Audrey Smiley, and a brother, David Wooley.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday Sept. 10, 2023, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Norridgewock.
