SIDNEY — Canadian Celtic rock band Enter the Haggis will perform Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Snow Pond Center for the Arts at 8 Golden Lane at 8 p.m.

Their 15-city tour kicks off in New England, skipping down through the mid-Atlantic before looping back in late October.

Craig Downie, founding member of Enter the Haggis, said “We’re looking forward to playing at the Snow Pond. I have heard that this is a wonderful theatre, having great acoustics and surrounded by the beauty of the Maine countryside. To top it off, there’s a nice lake to jump into if we get overheated on stage,” according to a news release from the arts center.

Downie is cornerstone to the band’s multi-instrumental prowess, switching between bagpipes, trumpet, Irish whistle, and harmonica.

The lead vocalists of Enter the Haggis are Brian Buchanan and Trevor Lewington. Buchanan is also on fiddle, guitars and keys; and Trevor Lewington is on guitars and songwriting. Tom Barraco plays the drums; Rose Baldino plays the fiddle and does vocals; and Caroline Browning has joined on bass guitar, keyboard, mandolin and vocal harmonies.

Tickets cost $25 in advance, or $30 on the day of the show.
