FARMINGTON — Rustic Elegance Custom Decor will be hosting an open house on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The open house will feature a tour of the gift boutique as well as food trucks and local chocolatier Pam Yenco.

Located at 249 Farmington Falls Road in Farmington, Rustic Elegance Custom Decor works tirelessly to not only promote local artisan crafters, but women business owners all over the state of Maine and beyond.

“In this store, we have over 100 women owned small businesses represented that we curate directly from them,” Owner Tricia Johnston stated. “We don’t do consignment or rent booth space. We purchased directly from all these small women owned businesses.”

At the open house, visitors will be met with Nate and Ollie’s Rolled Ice Cream truck from Unity as well as TexMex, another local food truck offering Mexican food.

Also making an appearance is Pam Yenco, a local chocolatier that Johnston speaks about in high regard.

“For years and years, she had a chocolate shop where Basil Pizza is now,” Johnston said. “And she makes handcrafted chocolate. She orders her chocolate in big blocks right from Belgium, and I think she has to go down to the dock and pick it up when it comes over.”

Johnston will also be offering a sampling table for the variety of treats that are offered in her store. Johnston stated that she wants the open house on Saturday to kick off the fall schedule of events as well as holiday shopping for her local customers.

“[We wanted] a kickoff to holiday shopping,” she said. “People are already coming in to shop with their list and so we figured this would be a good little kickoff in September, because we have several events planned throughout the rest of the year.”
