CARIBOU — The Miss Aroostook Pageant, held Aug. 20 at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center, crowned Khloee Renee Tower, 12, as Miss Aroostook Young Teen 2024.
The Oakland resident is a seventh grader at Messalonskee Middle School.
The pageant crowns girls and young women who will advance to the Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant next July, according to a news release from the Miss Aroostook Pageant.
Khloee likes to volunteer helping young children and the local humane societies. The pageant system places high importance on community service activities.
Contestants raised more than $600 for the Aroostook County Snack Food Drive, organized by 2023 Miss Northeast Maine Teen Madelyn Sylvia.
The funds were used to purchase snack foods for teachers’ classrooms in Aroostook County; they have already started being delivered.
