Changes again! Due to possibly inclement weather, “Music for Mavis” Tuesdays at the Gazebo will host the charming and energetic duo Hot Damn – rain or shine – from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the gazebo in Turner Center.

Hot Damn is the duo act of husband and wife team Norm and Debbie Pelletier with the true sound of a full band. These dedicated musicians playing over 200 gigs a year. They have a knack for reading their audience. Some of their gigs are strictly sock hops, playing only 50’s and 60’s music. They also mix in some comedy songs in their act, which delights the audience and provides a great stepping-stone to a superb band-to-audience relationship. Having been in the business for the past 30-plus years, they have had the opportunity to open for national acts such as Martina McBride, Bobby Bare, Mel McDaniel, McBride & The Ride, Juice Newton, Johnny Paycheck, The Kendalls, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tanya Tucker, Melba Montgomery, and Asleep at the Wheel.

Denny Breau will perform at a CD release at Lenny’s in Westbrook on Saturday, Nov. 19. Contributed

Next week Denny Breau and friends will play at the season finale of the Music for Mavis series. Many thanks to Norm and Deb for switching dates. The weather has been a rascal. If need be, there is plenty of room inside for two, but not for Denny’s large group. So we hope for good weather on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Bring a chair, a blanket, and a friend. We pass the hat to pay the musicians. Suggested donation $10. For more information, call 207-754-0954 or 207-240-4591 or visit the Music for Mavis page on Facebook. The gazebo is located off Rt. 117 near the Turner Public Library at 98 Mathews Way, Turner.
