WALES — Monmouth/Winthrop earned the 300th win of coach Gary Trafton’s career by defeating Oak Hill 6-0 in a girls soccer game Friday.

Riley Smith and Annabelle Carlton led the way for the Mustangs (3-2) with a pair of goals apiece. Taryn Keleher and Abby Atwood each added one goal, and goalie June Foyt made five saves.

Raiders (1-2) goalie MacKenzie Vattaso stopped four shots.

 

HALL-DALE 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0: Marie Benoit had a hat trick and an assist in the Bulldogs’ victory in Jay.

Hayden Madore added a goal and three assists for Hall-Dale (2-2-0) while Addison Tinkham also scored. Maya Hammonds had an assist and Aubrey Gilbert only needed to make one save in goal.

Tyoaka Hodgkin stopped 26 shots for Spruce Mountain (0-5-0).

 

BOYS SOCCER

 

MONMOUTH 5, WINTHROP 0: Pat Strout scored three times and set up two goals in the Mustangs shutout win in Monmouth.

Brandon Smith had a goal and two assists for Monmouth (4-0-1) Kyle Palleschi chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Winthrop falls to 2-3-0.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

 

CONY 8, MCI 0: Abby Morrill had four goals and two assists as the Rams remained undefeated with the win at Augusta.

Helen Dineen scored twice for Cony (3-0), while Caroline Hendrickson had a goal and an assist and Elise Cunningham also scored. Maci Freeman dished out three assists. Avery Maxim stopped two shots in goal.

Chi Chi Rivera made five saves for MCI (2-4).

 

HALL-DALE 6, TELSTAR 0: Taurence Tibbetts and Hannah Rauch potted two goals each for the Bulldogs in a Mountain Valley Conference win in Bethel.

Mira Skehan and Ashlynn Donahue scored in the second half for Hall-Dale (3-1). Delanie MacDonald had a pair of assists while Marinn Perry and Faith McDougal also set a goal up.

Lindsy Stephenson made 18 saves for Telstar.
