Robert Joseph Blouin

PITTSTON – Robert Joseph Blouin, 84, of Pittston died Sept. 11, 2023, at Glenridge Hospice Comfort Care Unit. Robert was born in Augusta on August 31, 1939. He was raised on Togus Pond and Sand Hill by his Aunt Claira and Uncle Lucien. He attended St. Augustine School as a young boy.

He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1961 in Germany. After his discharge, he met the love of his life at the Johnston House in Gardiner.

Robert worked as a tractor trailer driver all over the world working for Wyandot. He was a chef at many big chain restaurants all over the state of Maine and New York. His last trucking job was for a fish market out of Portland. He then bought Bob’s Gulf in Waterville and then bought Bob’s Texico in Gray after some years passed, he retired to care for his wife at home.

After retirement, he delivered newspapers for the Kennebec Journal for 28 years. He was “Paperboy of the Year” many times. Since the passing of his wife, his dog, “Snoopy” was his best friend.

Bob was a loving husband for over 50 years of marriage. He loved being with family and he loved to cook for everyone. Dad was a wonderful father as voiced by Lisa and Craig. He was a wonderful grandfather as voiced by his grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife, Ann; a baby girl, Laura Ann and a daughter, Laurie Ann.

His is survived by his son, Craig Blouin of Old Orchard and fiancé Alexandra Caswell of New Hampshire, his daughter, Lisa Blouin of Oakland, his daughter-in-law, Rose Blouin of Oakland; granddaughters, Amanda Cole and husband Lance and Ashley Blouin of Augusta, grandson, Bryce of Fairfield; great-grandchildren, Dante, Kianna and Kendall.

He leaves behind his extended family, Dodie, Judy, Leona and Don, Danny and Sheila, Joe and Violet, and Carmen Murphy; several nieces and nephews; also his beloved puppy, Snoopy and former daughter-in-law, Anna.

A private Celebration of Life will take place at the VFW at a later date. A committal service will take place at the Chapel at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta in October.

A special thank you to MaineGeneral Hospice and Glenridge Comfort Care Unit for their wonderful care they gave our Dad and Grandfather.
