Naples Packing Co., 654 River Road in Mexico, plans to host a benefit cruise-in event at noon Saturday, Sept. 23.
There will be many nice cars and trucks on site, and everyone is welcome to bring their own and tell friends, according to a news release from Jim Naples, owner.
Food will be cooked by Frank Knauer, and Dan Richard will provide music.
All proceeds will be donated to Alan Gogan, a.k.a. “Big Al.”
“He has been seen in a Naples van for over 40 years, he worked for my Dad and continued to work for me,” Naples said in a news release. “Lately Al hasn’t been doing very well having to go back and forth to Togus because he’s having a hard time breathing so it put him out of work for some time now and he needs our support and prayers.”
Naples hopes Gogan will be able to join the show.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
