The Oasis of Music will present the fiddle music of Don and Cindy Roy beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Trinity Commons in Lewiston.
The Roys are the premier fiddle and piano duo of Maine, whose music has been dubbed “the aural signature of the pine tree state.” They direct the acclaimed fiddle orchestra Fiddleicious (well-known to Lewiston audiences) and are recipients of the National Heritage Fellowship award for their accomplishments. Aside from performing, Don Roy makes and restores violins.
The Oasis of Music is a weekly music series of performances of roughly thirty minutes, running from September to May. Admission is free, with donations accepted. The musical genres vary greatly, in largely, but not exclusively, acoustic formats. Trinity Commons is located at 247 Bates St., Lewiston. For more information, call 207-344-3106.
