PITTSFIELD — Three different players scored as Maine Central Institute defeated Gardiner 3-1 in field hockey action Thursday.

Ashlee Jarvis, Charlotte Peaslee and Hannah Weaver each scored a goal for the Huskies (3-4) while Celia Stinson and Peaslee chipped in with an assist apiece. Chi Chi Rivera made 13 saves.

Emry Cady had the goal for the Tigers (5-2) and Natasha Marshall stopped one shot.

 

MESSALONSKEE 3, BREWER 1: Abby Stevens, Chloe Michaud and Sophia Ventimiglia each scored to lead the Eagles to the win in Oakland.

Payton Alexander added an assist and AJ Pettengill made 12 saves.

Messalonskee improves to 4-2 while Brewer falls to 3-2-1.

 

MT. BLUE 2, EDWARD LITTLE 1: Lily Huntley’s fourth-quarter goal pushed the Cougars to the win in Farmington.

Kensley Malcore gave Mt. Blue (5-0) the initial lead early in the first quarter, but Leah Thibodeau answered for Edward Little eight minutes later.

Kasey Smith made three saves for the Red Eddies (3-3), who had to survive 16 penalty corners by Mt. Blue. Gwen Lesperance made two saves for the Cougars.

CARRABEC 1, TELSTAR 1, 2 OTs: Anna Canalas scored for the Cobras in a game that ended in a draw in Bethel.

Leah Nelson made two saves for Carrabec (3-1-1).

Morgan Zetts had the goal for Telstar (2-2-1).

ERSKINE 1, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Holden McKenney had an unassisted goal to lead the Eagles to the win in South China.

Caleb Gay made 10 saves for Erskine (4-2-1).

Eli Pluecker stopped 13 shots for the Panthers (4-2-1).

 

RICHMOND 3, BUCKFIELD 2: Hunter Mason scored twice in the Bobcats (4-1) victory against the Bucks (4-1) in Buckfield.

Kenny Mechamm also scored and Finn Foster picked up an assist. David Edwards made six saves in the win.

Brayden Jack and Krosby Harvey scored first-half goals for Buckfield. Cayden Durgin made eight saves in the loss.
