Do you agree with Maine raising the minimum wage in January to $14.13?
Between August 2022 and August 2023, the cost of living index apparently rose 2.4%, which prompted officials to once again increase Maine’s minimum wage to $14.13 per hour. Additionally, the new “tip wage,” or service employee minimum wage, in 2024 will be $7.08 per hour. This means that service employees must receive at least a direct cash wage of $7.08 per hour from the employer.
But what do you think? Do you think the cost living rise of 2.4% merits a bump in minimum wage?
